Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974, Aviano Italy) American actress, particularly acclaimed for her critically-acclaimed performance of charming and naive characters. Adams was raised in Italy and her father was as a soldier in the U.S. military and she grew up within Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven children. At the end of the 1990s, she began performing professionally and dancing in Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. After that, she relocated to Minnesota where she was scouted for Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentary film that explored beauty contests. Her screen debut was a huge success with the role of an unfriendly, but obnoxious contestant, Janet moved to Los Angeles where she began professional acting. From June 1951 to September of 1962, she got married to actor Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh, discovered by actress Norma Shearer Leigh signed a contract with MGM to start her journey as a film actress in the mid 1940s. She was in numerous acclaimed films in the next decade, like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis-film that was released in 1954).
