Felicity Jones was born and raised in the UK and is most well-known as the actress who was Jane Hawking on the critically-acclaimed film The Theory of Everything. Jones began her acting career at age 12 and worked on various TV series, plays as well as films. She began her career as a television actress with The Treasure Seekers. Then, in The Worst Witch (a television show), she appeared as Ethel Hallow. The sequel Weirdsisters college also featured her. Her first feature film Flashbacks of a Fool (which she was a part of), Young Ruth, she went on to play in a variety of other films. She gained popularity for her performance in films such as The Invisible Woman and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The role she played as the wife of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything earned her an Oscar nomination for her first. Jones in her role as Stephen Hawking's wife in the biopic, based on the life of Stephen Hawking, was highly praised both by viewers and critics. She was then seen in Inferno a thriller starring Tom Hanks. In the year 2016 the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles selected Jones to be the British Artist of The Year for her talent and contributions to the cinema.
